AIRPORT INFORMATION

Taipei has two major airports:

Taoyuan International Airport (TPE): Located about 45 minutes west of the Taipei by car. It is the destination of most international flights coming into Taipei.
Songshan International Airport (TSA): Located in the heart of Taipei, with quick and easy access to the city. It is a smaller airport that serves fewer international routes, with flights to China, Japan, Korea, and within Taiwan.

Multiple ground transportation options are available to take travelers from the airport to their destinations:

KKDay and Klook offer competitively-priced private car transfers for pre-booking
Uber is accessible via your usual app and connected payment method (a small rate conversion fee may apply)
55688 is a reliable local taxi company with English-speaking operators
The Taoyuan Airport MRT offers a direct connection to downtown Taipei. Fares for the purple Express (38 minutes) and blue Commuter (50 minutes) trains both cost NT $160 (US $5).

The Symposium has negotiated a discounted room rate of NT$3,400/night with The Tango Taipei JianTan. Please book your reservation on The Tango Jiantan website. and email admin@asiamedfuture.org with the name on the hotel reservation to secure the rate.

The hotel is conveniently located on the red MRT subway line and is only a 20-minute subway ride to the conference location. Accomodations include access to a Chinese-style breakfast buffet. The famous Shilin night market is nearby, along with easy access to many other Taipei attractions.

GETTING AROUND TAIPEI

By Public Transportation:

The Taipei Metro (MRT) is clean, safe, and efficient. Single journey fares or refillable EasyCards (NT $100 / US $3) can be purchased at MRT stations. EasyCards can also be used to pay for purchases at local convenience stores and some other shops.

By Car:

Uber is accessible via your usual app and connected payment method (a small rate conversion fee may apply)

SIM CARD OPTIONS

Prepaid SIM cards are available for purchase in the arrival halls of both Taipei airports. Packages offer unlimited data for a set number of days. We recommend choosing either Chunghwa Telecom or Taiwan Mobile, as these carriers offer the most reliable coverage.
